Taldea

Terms of Use

What is Taldea

Taldea is a mobile app to create and join short-lived groups of moments (photos). When you create a group, Taldea generates an invitation link and a QR code linked to that group. Anyone who has Taldea installed can join by tapping the link or scanning the QR code with any compatible camera or QR reader app, as long as the group is active.

In Taldea you share moments (photos) that can be seen inside the group for a limited time and then disappear. If a group goes 7 days in a row without any new moment, the group is deleted. By using the app, you accept these terms.

  • Moments can be viewed inside the group for a maximum of 24 hours.
  • After that, moments disappear.

Who can use Taldea

You can only use Taldea if you meet all of these requirements:

If you do not meet these requirements, you should not use Taldea.

  • You are at least 16 years old.
  • If the law in your country requires a higher minimum age to use online services, you meet that age.
  • You are not legally banned from using this type of service.

How Taldea works (what it does NOT have)

Taldea is designed to be simple. This means the app leaves out many typical social features to focus on real-time sharing.

  • There are no likes or social reactions.
  • There is no commenting system.
  • There are no public follower counts or explore tabs.
  • You cannot upload content from your gallery. Moments are captured with Taldea's camera, in the moment.
  • You cannot edit a moment once it has been posted.
  • Taldea is not a memory archive. It is about what is happening now, and then it goes away.

Your account

To use Taldea you can sign in with providers such as Apple or Google.

You are responsible for keeping your device and your credentials safe, and for everything that happens through your account.

If you believe someone is using your account without permission, review the access settings in your provider (for example, Apple or Google) and contact us.

  • Keeping your device and your login credentials safe.
  • Everything that is done from your account.

Groups, people and invitations

Groups in Taldea are created from invitation links and QR codes. The person who creates the group is its creator or admin. To join a group you need to use an invitation.

To understand which invitations work and to assign rewards or extra views, Taldea may generate individual invitation links per person and per group. From the perspective of other people in the group, invitations stay anonymous at interface level.

The link or QR code you have can be shared in any channel (messaging apps, social networks, etc.). If you share your link publicly, people you do not know may join. The use and distribution of that link is your responsibility and the responsibility of the other members of the group.

The creator can regenerate the main invitation link of a group so that a previous one stops working. When this happens, Taldea can generate new individual links associated with that group, which will be used from that moment on.

  • Only the creator can remove other people from the group.
  • Anyone can leave the group at any time.
  • To join a group you either scan an invitation QR with any compatible camera or QR reader app, or open an invitation link someone has shared with you.
  • Each member can have their own link to invite other people to the same group.
  • We use this information internally to understand which invitations have worked and to assign rewards, such as extra views.
  • We do not publicly show who invited whom.
  • Other people will not see your name tied to something like 'invited X'.

Moments and content license

You keep the rights over the photos you share in Taldea. When you post a moment in a group, you grant the people responsible for Taldea a license to handle that content so the app can work. This license is only for running Taldea and improving it, and does not mean we own your content.

Once you post a moment, some things are fixed:

We do not sell your photos or turn them into ads for third parties.

  • The license is worldwide, free of charge and non-exclusive.
  • We can store, process and display that content inside Taldea so that the app can work.
  • This includes running the app, showing the moment to people in the group and maintaining and improving Taldea.
  • The moment can be visible in the group for a maximum of 24 hours from the time you upload it.
  • After that time it is removed from our databases as far as it is technically reasonable, except for minimal records that the law may require us to keep.

Views, limits and paid plans

To view moments in Taldea you use views. If you run out of views and you do not have a paid plan, you may not be able to keep viewing moments until your views are refilled or you buy a plan.

Free views are refilled on the date shown in the app (for example, on the first day of each month), unless you have an active Pro plan that already includes enough views. We may grant you extra views if you invite other people and they create a valid account in Taldea.

The specific details such as how many free views you get per period, how many extra views you get per invitation and the conditions of paid plans are shown in the app and may change over time.

  • Every time you view a moment you spend views from your account.
  • You have a limited number of free views in each period (for example, each month).
  • We may offer paid plans (monthly pass, yearly pass, Pro, etc.) that add more views or offer unlimited views while they are active.
  • Your free views may be refilled automatically.
  • You can buy a paid plan to get more views.

Paid Plans, Billing & Refunds

If you choose to buy a paid plan (monthly, yearly, Pro or similar), the purchase is handled by the App Store or Play Store. The rules of each store apply, including taxes, renewals and how to manage your subscription.

Below you'll find the key points:

  • When you purchase a paid plan through the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android), the terms of purchase of the relevant store apply.
  • The plan will automatically renew at the end of the term unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current term.
  • If you cancel a plan, you will continue to enjoy the benefits until the end of the paid period.
  • We do not guarantee refunds, but if you believe you were charged in error, please contact us within 30 days.
  • We may change the pricing or terms of paid plans with at least 30 days' notice for existing subscribers.
  • If your account is terminated for abuse, no refund will be provided.

Rules of use

You must not use Taldea to do things that harm other people or break the law. We may remove content, suspend groups or close accounts that break these rules or the law.

  • Do anything illegal or that infringes other people's rights.
  • Harass, threaten, insult or humiliate other people.
  • Share hate speech, serious violent content or sexual content involving minors.
  • Share other people's personal data without their permission.
  • Share content you do not have the rights to share.
  • Send spam, try to break the app or use it in an abusive way.

Ephemeral content and automatic deletions

Taldea is designed so that groups and their content are not permanent. Each moment you share in a group lives at most 24 hours from the time you post it.

If a group goes 7 days in a row without any new moment, that group is deleted. This includes deleting remaining content from that group in our databases. We do not guarantee that moments will always be available. If you want to keep a photo, do not rely on Taldea as your backup.

Screenshots

In Taldea we try to technically discourage screenshots or screen recording inside the app. However, there are limits to what we can prevent. Do not share anything in Taldea that you would not accept someone capturing or showing outside the group.

It is not allowed to use screenshots or recordings of content from Taldea to harass, threaten, blackmail or expose other people.

  • We cannot guarantee that protections will always work on all devices or operating system versions.
  • We cannot stop someone from taking a photo of the screen with another phone.
  • We do not show who has tried or managed to take a screenshot, nor how many screenshots have been taken.

Deleting your account

When the app offers it, you will be able to request deletion of your account. Deleting your account does not affect content that other people have created in their own groups.

  • When you delete your account, we delete your Taldea account.
  • We delete groups you created and content (moments) that belongs to you and is still active at that time.
  • We may keep some data for longer when the law requires it or for security purposes.

Moderation and account closure

We may take action to keep Taldea safe. You can stop using Taldea at any time by uninstalling the app and/or using the option to delete your account.

  • We may remove or block content that breaks these terms or the law.
  • We may limit, suspend or close your account if we detect abuse, fraud or harmful behavior.

Taldea "as is" and responsibility

We try to make Taldea work well and be a safe place, but we cannot promise that the app will always be available or free of errors. Taldea is provided as is, within what the law allows.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for content that other people upload to Taldea or for the loss of content due to automatic deletions or account closure. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the applicable law.

Changes to Taldea and to these terms

We may change Taldea and we may change these Terms of Service, especially if the app or the law changes.

If we make important changes, we will try to let you know in the app or through other reasonable channels.

If you keep using Taldea after the changes take effect, we understand that you accept the new terms.

  • We may change how Taldea works.
  • We may change these Terms of Service.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Spanish law and, when applicable, by the law of the European Union. Disputes will be handled by the courts of a city in Spain, unless consumer law allows your local residence courts.
