Introduction
We created Taldea so you can share moments with your groups, not so we can build a huge file about you.
This page explains what data we collect, what we use it for, who we share it with and what rights you have.
Quick summary (TL;DR)
- We only collect the data we need to make Taldea work, keep it safe and improve it.
- Your groups are accessed by link/QR and are not public or searchable.
- Each moment (photo) is removed from our databases after 24 hours.
- If a group goes 7 days with no new moments, the group is deleted.
- There are no likes or public follower counts. We focus on content, not social validation.
- We process view counts to manage your account limits and show you the reach of your moments.
- We may use individual invite links per person and group to see which invitations work and to grant extra views.
- We may use product analytics tools like Amplitude to understand how the app is used and improve it.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data in the cases allowed by law.
- When you delete your account, we remove your account and, as far as technically reasonable, groups you created and your active moments.
Who is responsible for your data
The joint controllers of your personal data in Taldea are: Alexander Dolara, and Juan Arias. They jointly decide how and why personal data is processed within the Taldea app.
- Postal address: Ibaigane 7 — 48.930 Las Arenas, Spain
- Privacy email: privacy@taldea.app.
What data we collect
When you use Taldea we may process these categories of data.
- Account data: basic information we receive from your sign-in provider (for example Apple or Google).
- App usage data: events related to how you use Taldea, such as when you create or join a group, upload a moment, or view content.
- Technical and device data: information needed for the app to work, such as device model, operating system, and app version.
- Content you share (moments): the photos you upload to groups, following Taldea's ephemeral rules.
- Invites and rewards data: information about invitation links used to assign extra views or similar rewards.
- Support and communication data: messages you send us when you contact us for support.
How and why we use your data
We process your personal data under the GDPR and Spanish data protection law, mainly on these legal bases.
- Performance of a contract: to provide Taldea features, such as letting you join groups, share moments, and manage your views.
- Consent: for optional features where the law requires it, such as certain notifications.
- Legitimate interest: to keep Taldea secure, prevent abuse, and understand how the app is used to improve it via tools like Amplitude.
How long we keep your data
We only keep your data for as long as needed for the purposes described above or to comply with legal obligations.
- Group content (moments): kept for a maximum of 24 hours from publication. After that, it is deleted from our databases.
- Group inactivity: if a group goes 7 days without new moments, the group and its content are deleted.
- Account deletion: when you delete your account, we remove your account data and your active moments, except for data required by law.
- Aggregated data: usage and technical data may be kept in pseudonymised form to analyse app performance.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with the following categories of recipients.
- Service providers: cloud hosting, analytics (Amplitude), security services, and payment providers.
- Other users: people in your groups can see the photos you share. We do not publicly show who invited whom.
- Authorities: when required by law, such as court orders or legal investigations.
International transfers
Some providers may be outside the EEA. We only transfer data with appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, among others. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@taldea.app.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
Minors
Taldea is intended for people at least 16 years old. If we detect data from someone younger without parental consent, we will delete it.
